Who Qualifies For A Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application procedure.

Applications are actually open and will shut on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should meet the subsequent criteria:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a home using a combined gross household earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 per annum.

• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined domestic revenue does not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and wish not post any evidence of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the nsfas application Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent people from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.

Applicants are reminded to provide the right Identification Doc numbers, names, and surname, as reflected within their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are researching or intend to study at a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously my nsfas and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply my nsfas now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
